Welcome to “Thriving in the 21st Century”

Like the book of the same name, this site shares links and resources to help you raise your children to thrive in the future.

Today’s parents were prepared for the 20th century. We were told:

“Do well in school so you can get into a good college and earn a degree, and you’ll always have a job with a good company, with steady pay and benefits.”

That advice made sense in the world our parents and grandparents grew up in, but that world is quickly disappearing. Why pass along 20th century advice in the 21st century?

No, it’s a new world, and we need to prepare our children for it. Let’s help our children develop the skills and mindsets that will benefit them as 21st century adults.

You’ll find plenty of information and inspiration when you check out the permanent links on this site as well as the weekly updates. For in-depth information and how-to’s, you’ll want to read Thriving in the 21st Century: Preparing Our Children for the New Economic Reality.
