While it continues to be true that STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) jobs pay very well, the U.S. Census Bureau recently announced that 3/4 of STEM grads end up with jobs that are not STEM-related, meaning they’re earning less money.
…the interest rate on student loans went up 20% last month. Read it and weep (better yet, question why we should let our young people become debt slaves in the first place.)
Anyone planning to spend tens of thousands of dollars to send their offspring to college (or worse, borrow said tens of thousands to do the same) really needs to become aware of what goes on in college these days.
Back when I was a college student (when dinosaurs roamed the earth), earning extra credit was a matter of additional study and hard work. Now you just need to stop shaving your armpits (if you’re female) or shave your entire body from the neck down (if you’re a man).
I wish I was making this up.
